Paço do Frevo
Paço do Frevo is a palace dedicated to the research and dissemination of frevo dance and music. UNESCO has considered the rhythm from Pernambuco an Intangible Heritage of Humanity since 2012. The Paço is located in the historic center of Recife, in an old mansion once home to the headquarters of the Western Telegraph Company, which was responsible for the telegraph implementation in Brazil. History, learning and fun accompany the public throughout the Paço while they learn the story of Pernambuco’s rhythm in long and short exhibitions. The venue also maintains a music and dance school and carries out a number of cultural and educational activities with monthly programming for children, youth and adults.
