Museu da Imagem e do Som - MIS (Museum of Image and Sound)
The Museu da Imagem e do Som (Museum of Image and Sound) of São Paulo was conceived by former Governor Abreu Sodré and was initiated by intellectuals and cultural producers. The purpose of the museum is to document, preserve and disseminate a mosaic of São Paulo and Brazilian cultural manifestations of the past and the present through sound and image. There are over 200,000 items in the collection including photographs, films, videos, posters, graphic material, image and sound equipment, sound recordings, books, CD's, DVD's and VHS. The programming includes film and video festivals, performances, workshops, courses, musical and photography events and encounters with artists.
