MM Gerdau - Museu das Minas e do Metal  (MM Gerdau - Museum of Mines and Metal)

Opened to the public in June 2010, the MM Gerdau is housed in a historic building known as the 'Rosa Building', which was inaugurated in 1897, the year of the founding of the city of Belo Horizonte and Praça da Liberdade. The museum offers visitors an intriguing and stimulating tour of the history of metallurgy and mining, rescuing the historical and cultural features of the state of Minas Gerais along the way. The space receives temporary exhibitions and maintains a program full of educational and cultural activities, such as workshops and musical shows. Of particular note are the 'Café com Poesia', 'Sharp language' and 'Once upon a time' projects. The MM Gerdau - Museum of Mines and Metal is part of the Circuito Liberdade cultural itinerary, which includes other museums and cultural centers: Minas Gerais Valley Memorial, UFMG Knowledge Space, CEMIG Popular Arts Center, Casa Fiat de Cultura, Centro Cultural Bank of Brazil - BH and the Mineiro Museum.
