Instituto Câmara Cascudo (Câmara Cascudo Institute)
Câmara Cascudo Institute's mission is to preserve the cultural and intellectual heritage of Luís da Câmara Cascudo (1898-1986), a folklorist, historian and Brazilian professor. The institute is located in the house where Câmara Cascudo lived for about forty years. A great scholar of Brazilian culture, the museum collections based at the institute reflect the multiple interest and tireless spirit that accompanied Câmara Cascudo throughout his life. Among them, the collections of Brazilian popular art, indigenous ethnography, African ethnography, as well as the original furniture of the house and personal objects of Câmara Cascudo stand out.
