Espaço Lúcio Costa
From Tuesday to Sunday, 9am-6pm.
Espaço Lúcio Costa (Lúcio Costa Space)
Idealized by Oscar Niemeyer and inaugurated in February 1992, the Espaço Lúcio Costa (Lúcio Costa Space) is a tribute to the architect and urban planner whose name the space is named after, and who won in 1957, the public bid for the Plano Piloto (Pilot Plan) of the new capital of the country. The underground construction keeps in its space the model of Brasília (built along 1988), surrounded by copies of the sketches and the Pilot Plan Report as well as photos that registered the years of construction and opening of the city. Reference for tourists and students, it is a privileged location to enjoy and understand the urban design of the city.
