Centro Cultural São Paulo (CCSP)
Centro Cultural São Paulo (São Paulo Cultural Centre)
The Centro Cultural São Paulo (São Paulo Cultural Centre) was opened in 1982 and is a public space for culture and conviviality. It brings together the Pinacoteca Municipal (City Pinacoteca), the Discoteca Oneida Alvarenga (Oneyda Alvarenga Discoteca), the Mário de Andrade collection of Missão de Pesquisas Folclóricas (Folkloric Research Mission), a set of libraries and exhibition spaces suitable to receive different courses, workshops, theatrical performances and film shows. It is considered one of the main cultural centres of São Paulo and its architectural design is one of the most significant in the city. The building made of reinforced concrete and iron, aiming horizontality, favoured the flow of large spaces and includes several accesses.
