Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil - Rio de Janeiro / CCBB-RJ (Bank of Brazil Cultural Centre - Rio de Janeiro / CCBB-RJ)
The CCBB-RJ is located in the building of the former headquarters of the Bank of Brazil, a historic building from 1906. It features spaces for different cultural attractions such as musical performances, theatre, cinema and temporary exhibitions. The Museu Banco do Brasil (Museum of the Bank of Brazil) takes up the three rooms on the 4th floor of the building, which belonged to the former presidency of the Bank. Among furniture, safes, lamps and ink cartridges from its collection, the Galeria de Valores (Gallery of Values) keeps an important numismatic collection and aims to show, through various attractions and playful spaces, the transformation of money and its meaning from the perspective of different moments of Brazilian history.
